The weather has officially turned, meaning it is now fully acceptable to dive headlong into ALL things A/W.
Cashmere is my immediate go-to for autumn. The Vicky Oatmeal Cashmere knit by Samsoe Samsoe feels super cosy and warm without the bulk and the itch of other knitwear options. It also easily transitions from casual daytime to sophisticated evening with the addition of jewellery and heels. The colour, the fit, the ultimate in luxury. It looks just as good worn casually with sneakers and a bucket hat as it does paired with leather pants and heels for a smart dinner option.
On cooler days, is there anything more cosy and desirable than a soft leather puffa jacket?
Made from buttery soft leather and featured in a brindle colour option, the Hanna Puffer jacket is such a versatile coat to easily slip over all outfit choices without clashing. Since the inception of the first puffa jacket in 1936 by Eddie Bauer (called the Skyliner, he encased down feathers within quilted fabric out of personal necessity after he nearly lost his life to hypothermia whilst on a fishing trip) it has reappeared within fashion several times and is now a permanent fixture of outwear choice. From the construction of the satin padded evening jacket by Charles James in 1937 to Demna Gvasalia's A/W 2016 collection for Balenciaga which heavily featured the puffa jacket, the puffa has now firmly carved out its niche and has evolved into a wardrobe essential.
I would style it with a sweater and denim for a put-together daytime outfit. Then for the evening, wear the jacket over a mini dress and boots for an understated 90's grungy aesthetic.
As we start thinking about the upcoming party season, a beautiful bag can really help to finish your look.
I particularly love our Isabel Marant Étoile - Merine quilted leather bag. Its sharp silhouette adds sophistication to after-dark outfits, I love that the chain strap means it can be worn glamorously over your shoulder in the evening and as a chic cross-body bag by day.
