What I look for in a Christmas outfit
"For me, the most important aspect of ANY outfit is that I feel confident in it. So, when it comes to dressing for the festivities, I need to have total conviction in what I am wearing.
As I have come to understand my style over the years, I now appreciate the shapes that work for me and with a few tweaks I like to introduce a little sprinkle of festive into my existing wardrobe. This can be something as simple as wearing a bright red lip with an otherwise simple outfit, or simply wearing the colour red, an immediate Christmas nod. Picking one statement piece and allowing it to shine, either shape, colour or fabrication, is a great way to bring a festive feel to an outfit. You really don't have to go in with all guns blazing, less is very often more.
I will let you into a secret, I can't stand feeling silly in what I am wearing - this loops back round to what I said about confidence in an outfit. If you are 100% confident in what you are wearing - it really can be anything - as long as you rock it, you will carry it off. I cringe in long jazzy dresses, fussy tops, novelty jumpers - the list goes on. Therefore, what I look for in a Christmas outfit must essentially be super simple with a little extra. Makes perfect sense to me. I also quite like being the Christmas grinch and will occasionally opt for a full black outfit (with the addition of the festive red lip). I particularly love to do this when I know that everyone else will be in full tinsel mode." Zoie x
