If you are not already aware, Flower mountain is a trainer brand born in 2015 from the friendship between Keisuke Ota from Tokyo and Yang Chao from Beijing who share a passion for mountain trekking camping and of course, footwear.
Their intention was to create a technically superior trainer 'inspired by the cycles of nature according to the rhythms of the natural world'.
So think incredible Italian craftsmanship, interesting plays with colour and fabrication and statement design, balanced with a Japanese aesthetic.
And on top of that, they are incredibly comfortable which makes them a hit imo.
Season on season they are a total sell out. Customers love how unusual and distinctive they are.
It helps that they are also supremely cool and gain big fashion kudos points.
The 32 The Guild selection of Flower Mountain trainers for this A/W is one of the strongest yet. Personally I am torn between two styles.
I adore the leopard detailing of the Yamano Animal Print & Military Suede.
Animal print, especially leopard, is a huge trend right now. The little fashion nod that these trainers give is just the right amount for me. I can see styling them with very simple outfits to let the trainers speak for themselves. I am also thinking they could be worn with slip dresses and skirts. I like that the leopard would give a little luxury touch.
I also love the unexpected and yet totally wearable colour combination of the Yamano Beige & Aqua style.
The colour pop of the laces against the subtle camel and buttermilk tones of the upper is really unusual. I see myself wearing these with nude and camel looks and really letting the trainers be the statement." Zoie x
